Happy New Year everyone... sorry for another disappearance... LOL

It is a big disappointment to start off the new year on a bad note.

This time, I was told by the hosting company that the site was down due
to server upgrades... you will notice that the true IP address has changed.
The server was reassigned... and in the process... they dumped our data.

Well, we are back again after another fiasco... hope the rest of the year is better...

My hosting service is really pissing me off...

We are upgrading servers to the latest one and adding RAM to 3GB to gurantee speed, So there might be a downtime, sorry for any inconvenience. We will update you in the ticket once all the work finish.

Ok, I received an email telling me that my account has been created.

Where is my website?

Is my data going to be restored on to the server?

Unfortunately while transferring the server. Some data files were accidently deleted. Can you please upload the files from the backup available on your local machine.

I would have made a backup right before you guys took it down if you could have notified me that an upgrade was going to take place instead of not giving me any notice.

That doesn't seem like very good business practice...

Touche! They suck alright... Nevertheless it was good you had a backup and not much data were lost, but what if you didn't have one? Make them change their policy and notify you BEFOREHAND for any upgrades, downtimes etc. in the service. You deserve to know!

It sounds like a really shitty hosting company. First they shut the site down without telling anyone and then they loose the data. Well done...
All this downtime isn't doing anything good for the forum.

Let's hope that the rest od 2007 goes better than the first days did, because it has been shitty for me as well.
